Spain - Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain and is widely known as one of the best tourist and vacation cities in the world.  Madrid is located on the Iberian Peninsula and with a population of more than 9 million people is a very large city.

Spring is the most comfortable and beautiful time to visit Madrid with the summer often extremely hot and winter very cold.  Madrid has many architectural marvels that are outstanding pieces of work.  Madrid is also popular for its nightlife and party scene. 

The most famous bullring in Spain can be found at the ‘Plaza las ventas Madrid’ and is called the ‘Plaza de toros de las ventas’.

In the centre of the city is the ‘Plaza Mayor de Madrid’ which is used for many different activities including markets, soccer games and bull fights.  It is a place where many people now eat and drink in the centre of Madrid.

Madrid’s biggest metro train station can be accessed from the ‘Plaza Puerta Del Sol’.  This plaza also offers access to the main shopping district, so if you like to shop, it’s a must see.

Madrid has a robust travel system that includes metro trains, buses and taxis. 

The main language spoken in Madrid is Spanish.

Spain – Barcelona

The first stop when you visit Barcelona in Spain is a tour of Gaudi’s masterpiece, the La Sagrada Familia.  This is one of the world’s most recognised landmarks with its towering spires.  There are so many architectural splendors in Barcelona to visit.

The parks are also outstanding.  The Park Guell is the must-see park in Barcelona.  It has been labelled a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is most amazing.

Barcelona also boasts the largest aquarium in Europe called L’Aquarium and if you love football then a tour of Barcelona FC is on the cards.
